Matt and I are currently at Gram's house enjoying the lovely winter weather! It has rained the entire time, surprise, surprise, but somehow, it is pretty and comforting (as opposed to wet and eternal) when you don't live here. We spent yesterday looking at the waves crashing over the bar, looking for birds on Bay Ocean Rd., and checking out the usual tourist traps (aka. Flamingo Jim's, The antique store in Garibaldi, and a place in Rockaway that sells rainwater - yes, really - in lightbulbs that have been capped with indian temple bells - so you can hang them - for 35 - 175$. They claim to have a rain cellar for each month of the last several years, enabling you to buy Oregon rainwater of the month and year of your choice. She also mentioned that she lets the bells sit out to be rung before she disassembles then so that noone ends up with a "frustrated bell" in their home...because we all know that would be tragic - you know, bad Karma.)
Today, we are going to don raingear and get wet. I am not yet sure doing what...thinking about checking out the cape...we will see.
Best to all - Anne & Matt
